Codependency would not exist without unrealistic, self-deprecating toxic beliefs. Probably the most prevalent toxic belief is that all our personal thoughts are accurate, reliable, and true.

There appears to be no escape from this phenomenon. It is the only reality most people have to understand who they are.

But toxic beliefs can be altered by identifying what exactly those beliefs are, discovering how you came to believe them, and challenging them to a dual. Reality is on your side, and it wins every time.
